Wharton GFA Research Council
The Wharton Global Family Alliance represents a substantial commitment by the Wharton School to develop in-depth research in the area of family business. To maximize the impact of the knowledge Wharton GFA creates, Wharton has assembled a Research Council composed of family business leaders from around the world who work in conjunction with the Wharton GFA Faculty Research Committee. Family participants of the Council controls substantial economic resources, are economically active (whether by controlling businesses directly and/or as an investor), and enjoys a strong personal reputation.
Participants of the Wharton GFA Research Council act as a sounding board and thought partner for Wharton scholars. Involvement in the Council ranges from providing occasional input on the Wharton GFA research agenda to deep involvement in knowledge development on a topic of interest. This dialogue ensures that Wharton's ongoing knowledge development is based upon the real world, practical issues faced by leading global families. Participants gain a vantage point on issues that affect their operating businesses, investments, and philanthropic strategies.
